Mascott held a health promotion and prevention of ill health seminar on site at South East Regional College, Newtownards Campus. The training seminar was organised by Mascott’s health & safety advisor, Ryan Scott. The training was carried out by Health Matters Ltd who employ qualified nurses to carry out the training. The sessions carried out on site where well attended by both Mascott Construction employees and sub-contractors. The sessions covered the following topics;

Alcohol, drugs and their effects on health Eating for a healthy heart Stress and men’s mental health Testicular and prostate cancer

Prior to the completion of the sessions all attendees were given the opportunity to have their blood pressure checked by one of the nurses in a private room. A substantial number of men took advantage of this opportunity. The sessions were well received by all who attended and Mascott received excellent feedback from all attendees.

Mascott plan to carry out similar training on all sites in the coming months.
