The following statement was read out on stage at the glittering ceremony in London:

"Despite the new building's close proximity to a number of dwellings, at no time did the College receive any complaints about the construction operation. The contractor frequently accomodated supervised site visits for staff and student groups studying construction, engineering and for local political representatives. Without exception the feedback was that the site was an excellent example of how a building project should be executed."
